There are an awful lot of truly excellent Labor Day deals to consider this holiday Monday. And if you're someone who has an Apple phone but has yet to treat yourself to a smartwatch, then today's a good opportunity to do so without breaking the bank. That's especially true with this deal on the Apple Watch Series 8. The fancy gold stainless steel model is currently on sale for just $299 at Walmart and includes the matching Milanese Loop band. Given this watch launched at $749 back in 2022, it's a hell of a deal.
Our expert reviewer rated the Apple Watch Series 8 highly at that time, and while they didn't love that it was a subtle upgrade on the previous iteration, nor that it's battery life wasn't improved, they did love the performance, temperature tracking and general OS upgrades as well.

It packs in all of the usual bits on top of things like temperature tracking and car crash collisions, including things like phone notifications, heart rate monitoring, and more. It's definitely one of the best Apple Labor Day deals going on.

While it has since been superseded by 2023's Apple Watch Series 9, the Series 8 still a solid smartwatch in 2024 and, this being the stainless steel model, it comes with cellular connectivity as standard. At $299, you're getting the fancier finish and band for less than the currently-discounted, GPS-only aluminum Series 9, for context.
We don't expect this Walmart deal will stick around for long. Other finishes have already sold out there, and with an Apple event kicking off next week, stock of this previous-gen Apple Watch is probably in short supply.
