If you don’t like the idea of Google storing sensitive information, you can disable form autofill in Chrome. Or, maybe you have a third-party password manager you prefer to use instead.

Whatever the reason, you can easily disable the form autofill feature in Google Chrome. You just need to go into settings and disable it. Then, you won’t be annoyed by Chrome asking you to save your personal info like credit cards, usernames, addresses, phone numbers, and more.

Chrome wants to save this information so it’s easier to fill out online forms. For instance, when you purchase something online, Google Chrome can automatically fill in the required fields.

In this guide, we’ll show you how to disable form autofill so it doesn’t affect you. We’ll also show you how to delete any autofill information you previously saved.

You can turn off the form autofill feature in Chrome from the browser’s settings. Here’s how.

Click the three-dot button (Customize and Control) at the top right corner of the browser and then click Settings from the menu.Chrome Settings

The address will be deleted immediately, and there isn’t a way to undo it. If you want something saved, you will need to enter it manually.

Staying Private in Chrome and Delete Data

It’s also worth noting that you can take things a step further by clearing Google Chrome browsing data. Following those steps will allow you to remove information that may still be lingering in the browser.

You might also want to check out the easy way tpclear browsing history. That lets you quickly remove it with a keyboard shortcut and a single click. When you do it, ensure that you select the Autofill Form Data box and click the Clear Data button.

If you aren’t cool with Google storing your data or are using a third-party password manager (think Proton Pass, Bitwarden, LastPass, or 1Password) to store it, you can disable the option and clear your existing information in Chrome using the above steps.
