Netflix Geeked Week: 'Sandman' Season 2 Pops With Loki, Thor, Faeries and More

Netflix Geeked Week: 'Sandman' Season 2 Pops With Loki, Thor, Faeries and More

Get ready to cross into the dream realm with The Sandman's Morpheus -- aka Dream -- when the series returns in 2025.

Netflix shared a behind-the-scenes featurette to tease season 2 of Sandman during its Geeked Week fan event on Thursday, and CNET was on hand to capture the news. Peaceful sleep and blissful dreams won't be the order of the day, as new characters are set to roll in with nightmarish deeds.

Season 2 will mark the first time Dream and his entire Endless family -- Destiny, Death, Destruction, Desire, Despair and Delirium -- will be together on-screen. You don't want to miss meeting them or The Prodigal. This family dinner will be anything but normal.

"I think what's really fantastic about the family dinner is it's where we learn about the chain of events, but it's also what sets off the chain of events," Kirby, who reprises her role as Death in season 2, reveals in the clip.

Adapted from Neil Gaiman's graphic novel, the show features Tom Sturridge as Dream, Mason Alexander Park as Desire, Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer and Donna Preston as Despair. But the upcoming installment will see Dream encounter the bosses from other domains, including Hell, Asgard and the Faerie kingdom. The season will glean from the book's Mist and Brief Lives storylines, which gets into old loves, family discord and Death.

Viewers will be along for the otherworldly ride when Loki, Odin, Thor, Puck and Orpheus show up. Newcomers to the season 2 cast include Freddie Fox, Barry Sloane, Jack Gleeson, Clive Russell, Indya Moore, Adrian Lester, Esmé Creed-Miles and Ruairi O'Connor as the Dream's child, Orpheus.
