Marvel Rivals Release Date Revealed, Coming in December

Opening Night Live at Gamescom saw the confirmation of the release date for the comic-based hero shooter. Marvel Rivals will release on Dec. 6 for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Epic Games Store and Steam. The date had been leaked earlier in the day.

A trailer was also shown, confirming that all characters will be unlocked and free to play at launch and beyond. Captain America and the Winter Soldier were both confirmed as playable heroes.

A new map for the game was also revealed with the latest trailer: Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda.

The leaked date came just hours before the Gamescom livestream event, appearing in a premature tweet from the Epic Games Store's account on X, as posted in several screenshots from other users. The post was quickly deleted.

The highly anticipated 6-on-6 shooter had a closed beta event that ended Aug. 5.
