John Wick Spin-off 'Ballerina' Trailer Hits With Neon Lights and Guns Blazing

Time to check in to the Continental Hotel again, but a trip to Tarkovsky Theater is also in order.

Lionsgate dropped a new trailer on Thursday for its upcoming film, From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, set to the soft melody of Beethoven's Für Elise. The latest entry in the John Wick franchise, Ballerina dives into the story of Rooney, one of the assassins trained at the academy under the Director (Anjelica Huston). Moviegoers will be able to watch the film when it lands in theaters on June 6, 2025.

First introduced in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Rooney -- played by Ana de Armas -- was taken in by the Ruska Roma where she was taught to dance and kill with precision. In Ballerina, she's on a mission to take out those who killed her family. The trailer shows Winston offering to take Rooney to dance school. In this case, that means learning hand-to-hand combat, gun training and playing dirty. Her revenge quest puts her face-to-face with adversaries who she punches, kicks, stabs and aims weapons at -- but a quick shot of the black-clad Baba Yaga levels things up. 

"How do I start doing what you do?" Rooney asks the John Wick. 

It's a story that takes place between John Wick 3 and 4, with Keanu Reeves set to appear as John Wick. Ian McShane reprises his role as Winston and the late Lance Reddick appears in his final turn as Charon. The cast also features Gabriel Byrne as the villain, along with with Huston, David Castañeda and Norman Reedus.
