I tested Satechi's new adapters and passport case, and can't wait to travel with them

Premium hardware manufacturer Satechi unveiled a range of new products at IFA this year, including some new adapters and a sleek vegan leather passport case with "Find My" technology. If you're a Satechi aficionado, you'll notice that these adapters are upgraded versions of previous products, but they do have some interesting features. Let's take a look:

I've had some hands-on time with all three of the new adapters and they are all what I'd expect from Satechi: excellent performance wrapped in a stylish shell. Each adapter conforms perfectly to the spec sheet. 

So the question for most will be "which adapter do I need?" If you need a Ethernet port, you're going for the 7-in-1, as this is the only one to have it. If you are only looking to add HDMI and a couple of USB-A ports, you'll be fine with the 4-in-1, and if you need an SD/microSD card reader, either the 7-in-1 or the 6-in-1 will work for you.

All thee adapters are small and light, and will fit easily into a pocket or bag with the rest of your gear. Satechi's new 4-in-1 Slim Multi-Port Adapter 4K, the 6-in-1 USB-C Slim Multi-Port Adapter, and the 7-in-1 USB-C Slim Multi-Port Adapter with Ethernet will be available on September 26, 2024 in Space Gray, Silver, and Black.

There's also a Vegan-Leather Passport Cover with Find My, which, as you might expect from the name, holds a passport holder, but along with that also has four card slots, and it offers and RFID protection for the cards. Power is supplied via wireless charging using Qi, Qi2, or MagSafe wireless chargers, and the built-in battery will last for five-months.

I have to say that I don't usually bother with a passport cover, but after trying this one out, I'm a convert! It has a rich, luxurious feel, holds my password and a few cards well, and having the safety blanket of Find My overseeing where my passport is at all times is highly reassuring.
