DuckDuckGo Offering PrivacyPro Bundle with VPN and More

DuckDuckGo Offering PrivacyPro Bundle with VPN and More - featured

DuckDuckGo is offering more layers of privacy protection to your browsing with the PrivacyPro bundle service.

The privacy-focused search engine and web browser company DuckDuckGo is offering a 3-in-1 bundle subscription that includes a VPN, personal information removal, and identity theft restoration.

The company is calling the bundle PrivacyPro, which adds an extra layer of privacy to overlay on top of its existing services.

DuckDuckGo’s virtual private network (VPN) offers anonymous browsing built for speed, security, and ease of use. It uses the fast and secure open-source WireGuard protocol. The VPN connection routes DNS queries to DuckDuckGo DNS resolvers, which aids in hiding your browsing history from your ISP.

The personal information removal service finds and removes personal data breadcrumbs left on sites like your name, address, and other personal data. That data can be used by data broker sites that sell the details. Once removed, it makes it harder for companies and bad actors to send spam, engage in email phishing attempts, and engage in other nefarious activities.

The third offering in the bundle is Identity theft restoration. So, if your identity is stolen, an Iris® Powered by Generali advisor will help restore stolen accounts, assist in recovering your money, and help repair your credit report.

DuckDuckGo already offers free-to-use privacy tools like its search engine, browser plugins, and web browser. In addition, the company provides an email protection service. However, the three privacy services discussed will cost you $9.99(U.S.) per month or $99.99(U.S.) per year, including the VPN, personal information removal, and 24/7 identity theft restoration.

More Security from DuckDuckGo

For users of DuckDuckGo’s web browser, this is a welcome addition to privacy tools already built into the browser. However, keep in mind that it’s only going to work while using the DuckDuckGo browser. Still, if you’re willing to pay for more protection, this bundle will give you that extra peace of mind.

It’s important to note that VPNs built into browsers are nothing new. For instance, you can use the VPN in Microsoft Edge while browsing. However, that isn’t a permanent solution since it only provides 5GB of data per month.

Also, browser VPNs only work while using the browser. If you want something that works full-time and masks your IP address regardless of the browser or other apps you use, check out a third-party option like Private Internet Access (PIA).

We haven’t tested the new privacy bundle yet, but when we do, we’ll let you know how well it works. If you have used these tools, let us know how they go for you. You can leave a comment below or discuss it further in our gP forums.
