Originally titled Superman: Legacy, and now just Superman, the summer 2025 release will not be an origin story, according to Gunn himself. Filming kicked off earlier this year, and aside from a tiny tease of the suit released with that announcement, this is the best look yet we’ve gotten of Corenswet in character; he’ll be the first live-action, big-screen Superman since Henry Cavill departed the role following that Black Adam cameo in 2022.
The rest of Gunn’s cast includes Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor—as well as Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt/Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Pruitt Taylor Vince as Pa Kent, and more. Superman is due out July 11, 2025.
