Alex Pereira will be hoping to make it a third successful title defence in just 175 days as he puts his light heavyweight crown on the line against Khalil Rountree Jr in UFC 307's headline act on Saturday.

The Brazilian star claimed the title from Jiří Procházka back in November last year, with "Poatan" beating Procházka once more in a  rematch fight in his last appearance in the Octagon back in June at UFC 303.

Up next is California's Khalil Rountree Jr, is a big puncher with a 13-5-1 record, who is on a run of five consecutive victories.

The bill also boasts Women's bantamweight title fight as it's main supporting act, with defending champ Raquel Pennington puts facing off against Julianna Peña.

Catch all the action live from Salt Lake City by following our guide to watching UFC 307 no matter where in the world you are.

Alex Pereira is the first fighter in UFC history to have been world champion in both light heavyweight and middleweight classes.

How to watch UFC 307 in the US

The UFC has a long-running partnership with ESPN. That's great news for the UFC and the expansion of the sport of MMA, but bad news for the consumer choice of US UFC fans.

In the US, if you want to watch UFC 307, you'll find the fight night only on pay-per-view through ESPN Plus. The cost structure is a bit confusing, but here are the options to watch UFC on ESPN, according to ESPN's site:

Existing annual ESPN Plus subscribers can order the upcoming UFC card for $80. New ESPN Plus subscribers can buy a bundle of UFC 307 PPV event (streaming in HD) and an ESPN Plus annual recurring subscription for $135. This is a decent deal. The ESPN Plus annual ESPN subscription will auto-renew after one year, at the price of an ESPN Plus annual subscription at the time of auto-renewal.
