This Tip Saves Time Accessing Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Other Settings on Your iPhone

Tapping your way through the Settings app for network options takes time. Here’s a tip that saves time accessing Bluetooth and more.

You are probably familiar with using the Settings app on your iPhone to manage your network, app, and other phone options. That’s all well and good, but there’s a trick you may not know about that saves time accessing Bluetooth and other settings.

You probably know that long-pressing an app icon reveals a menu of options for that app. Some are more helpful than others. But did you know you can tap and hold the Settings icon itself to access network settings quickly?

This tip will save time by allowing you to go directly to the network setting you need instead of swiping through the menu to find it.

Long-Press the Settings Icon for Bluetooth, Cellular Data, and Wi-Fi

You often need to manage different network settings on your iPhone for various reasons. When you regularly tap the Settings icon, it brings up a host of app and phone settings that you can manage.

However, long-pressing the Settings icon reveals common Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Cellular Data network options. It also has an option for Battery settings, like a quicker way to enable Low Power Mode.

Choose the one you want to use, and it will bring you directly to the settings page. For example, I connect to various Bluetooth devices throughout the day, and this saves me time.

Control Center Also Saves Time Accessing Bluetooth and Other iPhone Settings

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that the other simple way to access your iPhone’s network and other settings is via the Control Center.

Swipe down from the top right corner of the screen to display it. At the top of the Center, you will see Wi-Fi, Cellular Data, Bluetooth, and Airplane Mode buttons. Just tap the setting you want to turn on or off. You can even long-press icons in the Control Center for additional options. For instance, you can manage Conversation Awareness for iPods Pro (2nd generation).

Of course, there are other options, and you can customize the Control Center to display the things you need the most quick access to. One of the useful features I’m a fan of is the ability to identify music playing within earshot using the Shazam button.

However, if you want to connect to Bluetooth headphones, you’ll still probably want to long-press the Settings icon outlined above. When you long-press Bluetooth in the Control Center, it brings up other network options; then, long-press the Bluetooth button again to bring up the list of devices.

Navigating Your iPhone’s Settings Easier

The tip to long-press the Settings button may seem basic, and that’s because it is. But it can be a real time-saver. Whether you already knew about this tip or just found out, it can help you access your iPhone’s network (and other) settings more quickly.
