If you don’t want the world to know what cute pet clips you like on TikTok, here’s how you can hide your liked videos.

If you’ve been using TikTok actively for more than, say, a week, you’ve probably liked quite a few videos. Dozens or more, maybe. In my first week on TikTok, I probably liked more than a hundred different videos. The worry you might have, though, is whether people can see what videos you liked on TikTok. The short answer is that it’s up to you. You can hide your liked videos on TikTok, and I’m going to show you how to do that.

Protecting Your Privacy on TikTok

TikTok offers several privacy controls, many of which were originally implemented to help keep children safe on the platform. These are useful for more than just kids, though.

For example, you may not want everyone to know just how many viral dance trend videos you like. If this is something you’re concerned about, you can quickly and easily put your liked videos on private on TikTok.

How Do I Not Let People See My Likes on TikTok?

If you want to hide your liked videos on TikTok, just follow these steps.

In the TikTok app, tap Profile at the bottom of the display.

Once that’s done, you can rest assured that you have full control over who can see the videos you like on TikTok. You’ll know this is the case by looking at the icon for liked videos on your profile tab.

As you can see, the option to view your liked videos is a heart on your profile tab. If the heart has an eye with a slash through it, only you’ll be able to view the liked videos. The same holds for your bookmarked videos, found right beside your liked videos.

Protect Yourself Online the Best You Can

There’s no such thing as total online privacy. If you’re using social media, someone’s going to get information about your likes and dislikes that you might prefer to remain secret. While you can’t keep everything private, there are steps you can take to reduce your digital footprint. Hiding your liked videos on TikTok is definitely a handy way to maintain some level of privacy.
