Apple's New iPad Mini Is Up for Preorder, and It's Already Discounted

Apple is responsible for some of the best tablets on the market, and one of them has just been updated to add support for a slew of upcoming Apple Intelligence features. The newly refreshed iPad mini comes with a new chip to support Apple's AI features, and preorders are already open ahead of its Oct. 23 release. Order yours from Walmart and you'll save $15 off your new tablet, too.

Walmart's deal is available on the 128GB model across a range of colors, while Best Buy is offering up to $260 off when you trade in a similar device. You'll also get some free Apple services thrown in there for good measure. Amazon's new iPad mini preorders don't include any savings, with prices starting at the standard $499, but you can get the older model starting from just $380 if you don't need the latest and greatest.

In terms of what these new iPad deals will get you, this updated iPad mini includes 128GB of storage in the base model while support for the Apple Pencil Pro has been added, too. The Apple Intelligence support comes courtesy of an upgrade to the A17 Pro chip, similar to that found in the iPhone 15 Pro. New blue and purple colors have also been added, replacing the previous space gray and starlight options.

Other tweaks include support for faster Wi-Fi 6E networking and a new 512GB storage option. As for the Apple Intelligence features, they're expected to be made available via the iPadOS 18.1 software update towards the end of October.
